CQE presents life-saving gift to Leigh Judo Club
Lowton Community Hub is a bustling spot, regularly enjoyed by a wide range of people in the local area. Leigh Judo Club use it as their base, running three sessions per week so that people of all fitness levels, from 5 years old up to seniors, can learn and enjoy judo and keep fit at the same time. They felt the instalment of a defibrillator on site would be a valuable and important addition, providing peace of mind to their members - so they put forward their case to CQE.
With their valuable service to the local community – improving fitness and wellbeing through the provision of martial arts to all – CQE felt that Leigh Judo Club fit the bill perfectly. We were thrilled to support their cause and donate the life-saving equipment, which they installed and had ready to use within a week of the decision.
Tom Nagle is the Level 2 coach at Leigh Judo Club. Tom said:
“We are delighted and extremely grateful that we have been given this high-quality defibrillator by CQE. Having our own defibrillator means we have a lifesaving piece of equipment easily available, and although we hope that we never need to use it in the club, there is no doubt it could be the difference between life and death.
“Rapid treatment is critical to the survival chances of anyone suffering a cardiac arrest, so this defibrillator will be a great asset to the judo club and the local community.”
Stuart Holden, CQE’s Principal Quality Consultant, took the lead in co-ordinating this initiative at the Judo Club where his children are members. Stuart said:
“I wanted to give a little back to the community and help others in the most unexpected of times. I hope that this AED will never be needed, but if it ever is, we know that we have given the best care possible at the most important time.”
